10 things you can make yourself with corks

Big wine drinker? Do you have old cork coasters lying around? Well, save those corks because we’ve found 10 more ingenious ways to use them throughout your home. Who would say that something so simple can be so versatile!

1. Cork magnets

Gather some magnetic strips, a knife, glue, and some wine corks. Cut the corks in half lengthwise and apply adhesive to each magnetic strip. Press firmly on the flat side. And that’s it.

2. Drawer knobs

Gather some champagne corks, screws, and a screwdriver. Remove the existing drawer knobs and replace them with your pointed screws. Hold a screw in place with a screwdriver. Then press a champagne cork firmly against the screw and turn it clockwise. Do the same with all the drawers. Your new drawer knobs are ready.

3. Planters

You will need to gather some potting soil, a hole punch, a kitchen knife, magnets, and small succulents. Cut a hollow shape in the center of each cork. Place magnets on each cork by pressing hard. Next, fill the hollow hole with soil and then place a small succulent inside each one. Add a few drops of water and set the pots on a metal surface.

4. Jewelry frame

Looking for ways to organize your jewelry neatly? All you need is a frame that you like. Paint it. Cut the corks into long circular sizes and melt them into the frame. If you want to personalize it a bit more, you can wrap the corks in your favorite fabric.

5. Notice board

All you need are cork tiles, white paint and paintbrush, painter’s tape, and picture hanging strips. Apply the tape to the corks and proceed to make stripes. Next, lay the tiles in a pattern and then start painting. Finally, remove the tape and there you have it.

You will need a LOT of wine and champagne corks. All you have to do is simply gather all your corks together and wrap them in a breathable and durable mesh fabric.

10. Cork stamps

Why not make cute and unique stamps with your corks? All you will need is a good knife, a sharpening knife, and plenty of corks. Next, draw the design you want and then just cut around and slowly remove the excess wood. Use ink and fill in your designs and voila!
