The DeLonghi DO1279 6-Slice Toaster Oven is a 6-slice oven with a convection fan. I’ll start by saying that I love this toaster oven!

The DeLonghi DO1279, like the other DeLonghi toaster ovens at this price, has a good display and digital controls. These features allow for precise temperature adjustments and controls, and the digital display is easy to read. The unit itself has a nice black finish and looks great in my kitchen. It has a nice interior light, which is always a nice touch.
This is a convection toaster oven, which is always nice to have. It means this oven cooks faster and more evenly than non-convection fanless ovens. The interior of the toaster oven is huge, which is great. Two racks are included that can be used at the same time – I baked two 12-inch pizzas at once, awesome! In terms of toasting capacity, it’s adequate, although the cooking and baking capabilities are far superior and are the highlight of this model in my opinion.
The included pans that come with the DeLonghi DO1279 are coated with a high-quality enamel, making them much stronger than the standard pans that come with many toaster ovens. I have no doubt these will hold up over time. The included cookie sheets are also made with the same glaze and I’ve already gotten some use out of them. The peanut butter cookies I baked with this oven turned out amazing, and my kids can attest to it.
Like the DeLonghi DO400, the D01279 has a loud beep that sounds when you press the digital buttons and when the timer runs out. It’s loud, yes, but it can be a good thing since I can hear it ringing while I’m getting the kids ready for school in a different room in the house. Who wants a weak and silent alarm? There’s no way you’re going to miss this one.
The front door opens fully, making the grates and crumb tray easy to remove for cleaning. The large interior and light also help this, making it easy to stick your rag in and see what you’re doing.
Another great thing about this toaster oven is that it doesn’t get very hot on the outside. A common problem with most toaster ovens is that the exterior can get hot enough to burn, but the DeLonghi DO1279 barely gets hot. A great safety feature, especially if you have kids at home like me.

I think this little unit could be a great addition to your kitchen. The sheer utility and interior size, along with the digital display and controls, is truly second to none. It’s pretty big, so make sure you have the counter space before you choose one.
