Strongly held internal views of a person’s “self-esteem and desirability of the opposite sex” revolve around what the person sees visually on the outside, not on the inside.
There are many things in society that are a reflection of social customs and norms, and pornography is one of them.
Recently, pornography has left the field of simple men and women who engage in sexual acts … now it crosses all borders. If anyone can think of a particular act … it’s very likely that someone in the porn business has already made a movie about it.
I took it upon myself to examine the penis size of twenty adult film actors over any 5 year period, excluding the overly gifted John Holmes et al … and what I found was quite interesting.
1970-1975
I drew twenty of the best male actors from films produced during this time period. I stopped the movie when it presented the best view of the actor’s erection and digitally mapped the phallus.
The average erect penis measurement of the actors during this time was 5.85 inches +/- 0.25 inches.
1976 – 1980
The measurements of the best actors during this time period were 5.83 +/- .14 inches
1981 – 1985
The measurements of the best actors during this time were 6.46 +/- .50 inches
1986-1990
It was during this time that the largest leap in measurable size took place. Average measurement was 7.49 inches +/- .30 inches
conclusion
I find it curious that the time period (1986-1990) visually demonstrated that the majority of male actors in adult films were now larger than normal. Ironically … it was also during this time that men became interested in penis enlargement options, including phalloplasty.
Of course, it is impossible to determine what was possibly the genesis of the male enhancement movement (movies or the general population of men), but I find it interesting in its correlation of occurrence.
