Nordic Track Treadmill C2200 – Quiet, smooth and economical

As with all other treadmills manufactured by ICON, the Nordic Track model C2200 treadmill comes with a large number of trademark descriptions. First, let’s remove some of them and try to make reviewing the actual product a little easier on the eyes. It’s worth noting here that there are several model numbers for the Nordic Track model C2200 treadmill and some of them, confusingly, have different specifications. Why, I don’t know, but if you’re considering buying this treadmill, currently on sale for $699, make sure you’re not reading a previous review!

The principal caracteristics Ten training programs on the Nordic Track model C2200 treadmill will give you plenty of options. There are eight preset personal trainer programs and two customizable programs. Each program is divided into 30-second or one-minute segments, with a speed and incline setting for each section. The treadmill automatically adjusts the settings as you progress through each of these segments. You can also change the settings yourself by pressing the speed or incline buttons during the program, and it’s also possible to repeat a segment if you don’t want to move on to the next one too soon.

The Nordic Track model C2200 treadmill has a good size belt, 20″ x 55″. The cushioned platform, with another mischievous name, “DuraSoft III(TM) Shock Absorption,” is a joy to wear, and actually makes working out at home that much more enjoyable than going outside.

Apologies in advance for the excess of TM, the Solaris(TM) lighting console has four LED displays; calories/distance, carbs/incline, time/pace, and pulse/speed. The console also has training zone indicators, plus a 1/4 mile track on the display matrix. You can measure your heart rate using the handgrip pulse sensors, or the “optional” chest pulse sensor (which means you have to pay extra for it). I have to admit, I’ve never used iFIT for additional workouts, but the C2200 has this technology built in if you want to connect the treadmill to your PC or home stereo system and shell out more bucks for additional personal training programs.

Like many of today’s folding treadmills, the Nordic Track model C2200 treadmill has an easy-to-use folding design. However, don’t be fooled into thinking that exercise equipment this size will be as compact as storing your ironing board.

Conclusion The Nordic Track Treadmill Model C2000 does the job well and is very reasonably priced for a treadmill of this caliber. It’s acceptably quiet, and I particularly like the padded top. The negatives are the limited parts warranty and expensive extras. Overall, though, I’d recommend the Nordic Track C2200 as an at-home fitness solution.
